A Brief History of First Federal Bank Littlefield Texas ssb
First Federal Bank was chartered in 1946 as Littlefield Federal Savings and Loan Association. It was chartered by several Lamb County businessmen to fill the need to finance homes in the Littlefield area. The association was first housed on Phelps Avenue in downtown Littlefield until 1959 when it built a new building at 301 XIT Drive. The name was changed to First Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1975 and later to First Federal Bank Littlefield Texas ssb in 2007. In the fall of 2011 First Federal Bank moved into its new building, located at 2313 Phelps where it is housed today.
The mission of First Federal Bank is to promote thrift by providing a convenient and safe method for people to save and invest money and to provide for the sound and economical financing of homes, businesses, both agriculture and commercial, and consumer needs. Since its inception First Federal Bank has promoted home financing and continues to specialize in this by providing in house approvals and prides itself that no loans are sold.
